Ann's Kitchen
Ann Curtin opened The Coffee Pot on Main Street, Abbeyfeale in 2002. She'd been working at the local factory and spotted something the town was missing. Twenty-four years later, she's still here, still cooking, still running the whole show herself.
Ask the regulars and they'll tell you the same thing: Ann takes your order, makes your coffee, cooks your food, and brings it to the table. One person. Visitors can hardly believe it. A couple who met over breakfast at The Coffee Pot ended up getting married. Their wedding invitation is framed on the wall beside the counter.
This is home cooking done properly. Full Irish breakfast served all day. Homemade soup with soda bread. Roast dinners, cottage pie, and bread and butter pudding that people drive out of their way for. The kind of food you'd get in your mother's kitchen, if your mother happened to be a very good cook.
